Types of Turf

Front Lawn
(also known as "bowling green")
A top quality seed mix of slender creeping red fescue, chewings fescue, smooth stalked meadowgrass and browntop bent giving a wonderful finish to be proud of. Requires careful attention and regular mowing.
This mixture has top-rated varieties to give rapid establishment and a well-knit, fine textured sward for a fine quality domestic lawn. Not suitable for normal domestic use.
Suggested Use: Only for the very keen gardener.
Back Lawn
(also known as "seed" or "cultivated")
A hard wearing seed turf using a mixture of perennial ryegrass, slender creeping red fescue, smooth stalked meadow grass and chewings fescue.
This mixture contains perennial ryegrass to provide wear tolerance while maintaining a fine-textured appearance. The growth habit of this type of grass helps bind together and strengthen the turf and effectively compete with weeds.
Suggested Use: Ideal for the back lawn where children and animals are likely to play.
Meadow A cheaper and lower quality turf grown from various seed mixes generally associated with agriculture, which may have been previously used for grazing animals.
Suggested Use: Recommended for those "not so important" areas.
Please note certain turfs may not be available all year round.
