Design The view is magnificent, looking over open fields and rolling hills in the distance. The eye should be drawn towards the view, an existing archway will make this easier. The shed at the bottom of the garden is an unsual ragstone wall built on the diagonal which needs to be featured in the new design, complemented by planting but not obscured. The border needs shape and form. The wonderful mature shrubs can be used to dramatic effect by giving them space to show their full beauty and by rearranging the planting so all can be seen and appreciated. The step should be kept by the back door for practical reasons, but the lounge features French doors overlooking the garden. A raised decking platform outside the door will extend the space into the garden and it should be big enough for garden furniture so pleasant summer evenings can be enjoyed outside.
